MONSTER HUNTERS
The inspiration for this project was cryptozoology, which is the search for and study of animals whose existence or survival is disputed or unsubstantiated, such as the Loch Ness monster and the Yeti. Allowing for such a strange topic, I was able to design a series of posters showcasing my typographic skill and highlight these unique creatures.
The inspiration for the Kraken poster came from seeing the way squids and octopuses moved through the water. I wanted the twisting of the tentacles to form the main word of the poster “capture” because it made it seem like the creature was almost taunting the monster hunters.
The second poster was inspired by every image ever taken of Big Foot. Since every picture of the creature is blurry, I thought it would most accurately represent the creature to have the name itself just out of focus from the viewer.
